# Method

Each homepage was loaded in a rendering browser in September 2026 and matched against Installmap's fingerprint rules with `scrapers/detect.py`. The base for each list is every homepage that returned a page we could score: 1,000 unicorns, 472 Fortune 500 companies, 5,388 Y Combinator companies and 4,888 Inc. 5000 (2026) companies. The other domains are left out of every share.

Marketo counts when the page loads `munchkin.marketo.net/munchkin.js`, calls `Munchkin.init(`, contacts a `*.mktoresp.com` host, or loads the Marketo forms library. HubSpot, Pardot and Eloqua each count from their own tracking script fingerprints.

`final_host` is the host of the page the crawler ended on after redirects. A domain whose final host belongs to a different company (for example coreos.com ending on redhat.com) shows the buyer's tags, not the original company's.

The count is what the homepage loads on a first visit with no consent given. Tags that fire only after a consent click, or only on other pages, are not seen, so every count is a lower bound.
