# Method

Each company's homepage was loaded in a rendering browser in September and October 2026, and the HTML, script URLs and cookies were matched against Installmap's fingerprint rules with `scrapers/detect.py`. A plain fetch is used for the few domains without a usable rendered record.

Shopify counts when the page loads assets from `cdn.shopify.com/s/files/` or `cdn.shopify.com/shopifycloud/`, or defines the `Shopify.theme` object. WooCommerce, Squarespace Commerce, Magento, BigCommerce, Salesforce Commerce Cloud, Shopware, PrestaShop, Ecwid, Wix Stores and OpenCart are matched by their own rules. No homepage in these lists matched two store platforms.

The base for each list is the domains that returned a page. A store on a separate domain or subdomain, with the homepage on another system, is not counted. Shares of store platforms with a base under 20 sites are published as n/a.
