Installmap vs PublicWWW
What each one is
Installmap publishes the share of each list of companies that runs each piece of software. The lists crawled as sets are the Inc 5000, Y Combinator companies, the Fortune 500, unicorns, SaaS companies and the Tranco top 10,000. Each company homepage is loaded in a headless browser and matched against known fingerprints for analytics, CRM and marketing automation, advertising, chat, e-commerce, consent and hosting tools. The denominators, the crawl dates and the method are published.
PublicWWW (publicwww.com): A source code search engine over indexed web pages. You search for any snippet, signature or keyword inside page HTML, JavaScript and CSS, and get the list of sites containing it.

Notes on PublicWWW
The pricing FAQ states there is no free trial.
Downloads are capped at 20 rows on Free, 1,000 on Pro, 3,000 on Business and 10,000 on Enterprise, with daily download caps on the paid plans.
Unregistered access covers websites in the top 1,000,000, per the homepage.
The API access row of the comparison table did not render as text, so which plans include the API could not be verified.
How PublicWWW was read
The PublicWWW column comes from publicwww.com/prices.html and publicwww.com, read on 3 September 2026 and 5 September 2026 with no account. A cell reads "check" where the figure is not on those pages. The Installmap column is generated from the crawl when the page is served; the method page carries the sample, the funnel and the failure counts.
