Installmap vs SimilarTech
What each one is
Installmap publishes the share of each list of companies that runs each piece of software. The lists crawled as sets are the Inc 5000, Y Combinator companies, the Fortune 500, unicorns, SaaS companies and the Tranco top 10,000. Each company homepage is loaded in a headless browser and matched against known fingerprints for analytics, CRM and marketing automation, advertising, chat, e-commerce, consent and hosting tools. The denominators, the crawl dates and the method are published.
SimilarTech (similartech.com): A web technology analysis site, branded SimilarTech, a Similarweb company. It offers company and website technology breakdowns, competitor comparison, search for companies by technology, and contact lists built from technology signals.

How SimilarTech was read
The SimilarTech column comes from similartech.com, and similartech.com/pricing, which returns 404, read on 3 September 2026 and 5 September 2026 with no account. A cell reads "check" where the figure is not on those pages. The Installmap column is generated from the crawl when the page is served; the method page carries the sample, the funnel and the failure counts.
