Installmap vs StackShare
What each one is
Installmap publishes the share of each list of companies that runs each piece of software. The lists crawled as sets are the Inc 5000, Y Combinator companies, the Fortune 500, unicorns, SaaS companies and the Tranco top 10,000. Each company homepage is loaded in a headless browser and matched against known fingerprints for analytics, CRM and marketing automation, advertising, chat, e-commerce, consent and hosting tools. The denominators, the crawl dates and the method are published.
StackShare (stackshare.io): A public directory of developer and AI tools plus company tech stack profiles that companies and developers submit. Each tool page carries a description, pros and cons, alternatives and an adoption tab.

stackshare.io/pricing returns a 404 page, so no plan, price or purchase detail could be read and those cells are marked check.
Company stack profiles are free to read, for example Uber with 59 tools, Airbnb with 55 and Facebook with 36. The directory header states 150K tools.
The React tool page shows a stack additions figure of 183,297, but the companies and developers entries under it rendered no names, and the adoption page rendered no content.
Stacks are submitted by companies and developers rather than detected by a crawl, so there is no sample to describe.
How StackShare was read
The StackShare column comes from stackshare.io, and stackshare.io/pricing, which returns 404, read on 3 September 2026 and 5 September 2026 with no account. A cell reads "check" where the figure is not on those pages. The Installmap column is generated from the crawl when the page is served; the method page carries the sample, the funnel and the failure counts.
