Eleven technographics tools compared on what each one bills for and the cap that unit carries. Prices were read from each provider's own pages on 3 September 2026.
The order follows the billing unit: free first, then monthly plans, then per-record credits, then quote-only contracts.
1. Installmap
A research site that publishes counts of the software detected on company websites, cut by industry, employee size band and country, with the crawl and its attrition funnel written up on the method page. Nothing is billed. The counts, the industry and size cuts and the method page are free to read and free to cite.
2. StackShare
A public directory of developer and AI tools plus company tech stack profiles that companies and developers submit. Each tool page carries a description, pros and cons, alternatives and an adoption tab. Free to read, but the stacks are submitted rather than crawled, so no sample, no share and no method sits behind them.

3. PublicWWW
A source code search engine over indexed web pages. You search for any snippet, signature or keyword inside page HTML, JavaScript and CSS, and get the list of sites containing it. A free tier over the top 3M sites, then $109 a month, and a search returns a page count rather than a share of a stated sample.

4. Datanyze
A B2B contact data tool built around a Chrome extension that reveals email addresses and phone numbers from LinkedIn profiles and company websites, with contacts and companies tagged into lists. $29 a month for 80 contact reveals, and nothing on its pages describes technology detection or publishes a count.

5. NerdyData
A code search engine over live domains. You search the HTML, JavaScript, CSS, headers, cookies and XHR URLs of crawled sites to build lists of websites using a technology, and look up one domain's stack. $200 a month for 5,000 rows a download, with no industry or size cut and no sample size behind the detection.

A technology lookup service that reports the technologies, company details and contact data behind a website, and builds prospect lists filtered by technology, keyword, market position and geography. $250 a month for 2 technology targets and 5,000 lookups, and it publishes no market share count, no segment cut and no method.

A web technology analysis site, branded SimilarTech, a Similarweb company. It offers company and website technology breakdowns, competitor comparison, search for companies by technology, and contact lists built from technology signals.
